How Does It Work?
Cavity pHighter strips measure the pH level and buffer capacity of saliva. Simply wet the test strip with the patient’s saliva, wait 10 seconds, and measure the reading against the diagram on the bottle showing risk categories according to these measurements. Low pH (high acidity) and low buffer capacity indicate an elevated risk for caries.
